Tony Campolo Supports GodLovesAll.org 2.17.10
We recently received a letter from one of our heroes of the faith Mr. Tony Campolo. We were so excited to receive it and I thought I would share some of it with you all:
“I like your ideas. Indeed, the folks at Westboro Baptist are a little bit crazy in addition to being evil. The idea of…people not only voicing their opposition to Westboro, but giving a dollar to Compassion International to support a child in the Third World…is a brilliant idea. Just speaking against hatred is not enough. One has to do something to express love, and though it’s a very small thing, contributions to these organizations can make a difference. Thanks for your thoughtfulness and your willingness to stand against tyranny, especially the tyranny that comes from the church.
Sincerely,
Tony Campolo”

Our friends at XXXChurch took it upon themselves to visit WBC offering God’s love in the face of the hate of WBC.
Freddie, Please 1.04.10
One of our favorite artists (Derek Webb) recently released a great album called Stockholm Syndrome. On it he has a song called “Freddie Please” written to Fred Phelps (Pastor of WBC). It is a great song and we’d like to share it with you. Here are the lyrics:
Freddie, please
how could you do this to me?
How could you tell them you love me
when you hate me,
Freddie, please?
You know I’ll love you honey,
and i’ll bleed you dry with money
I’ll talk where I know you can hear.
Cause Freddie can’t you see,
brother, you’re the one who’s queer?
And the stone’s been rolled away
but you’re picketing my grave
for loving the things you hate.
Then why do you seek the living among the dead?
Freddie?

Grace and peace to you.
